Ushers/Ministers of Hospitality Needed

We are in need of Ministers of Hospitality to serve at weekend Masses.  At this time, we are only able to accept volunteers who have previously completed training as an Usher, Eucharistic Minister or Welcome Desk Minister, and those who are considered vulnerable will not be allowed to serve in this capacity.  Anyone interested should contact the parish office at 410-974-4366.

We continue to require sign-ups due to advanced seating preparations required to ensure the safety and proper social distancing of those in attendance.  We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

2020 Confirmation Mass Sign-Ups

Due to COVID seating restrictions, 2020 Confirmation Masses are private and sign-ups are limited ONLY to Confirmation Candidates and their guests.  Masses will be held at St. Andrew by the Bay.

Mass Intentions

We are now able to schedule Mass intentions by phone only (the parish office remains closed to the public).  To schedule a Mass intention, please call the office Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30am-12:30pm.  Donations for Mass intentions may be mailed to the office or dropped in the offertory with "Mass Intention" in the memo.  We are unable to distribute Mass cards to parishioners at this time; however, parish staff will mail Mass cards directly from the office to the recipient upon request.

Ministry Leader Meetings

Fr. Andrew is looking forward to meeting with the ministry leaders of our parish ministries.  If you are a ministry leader and have not yet had a chance to meet with Fr. Andrew, please contact the parish office at 410-974-4366 to arrange an in-person or virtual meeting.

Caring for Creation

‘Young people demand change.  They wonder how anyone can claim to be building a better future without thinking of the environmental crisis and the sufferings of the excluded”  Laudato Si’ (13)

• As a family, go on a nature walk. Talk together about how you each see God reflected in nature.

• What creatures in nature are your favorite? Have a family discussion about this.

• Plan an outing to a place where you can enjoy the gifts of God’s creation. Take turns sharing what you enjoyed most about being outdoors.

• Find a place in your living room where you can set up a small “altar” of special things that can remind you of caring for our common home. Add special symbols and photos or pictures that help to keep your gaze on the beauty and wonder of creation.

Preschool Update

If all goes as planned, St. Andrew by the Bay Preschool will start on schedule in the fall!  Our first day of classes will be Tuesday, September 8.  We are going to be changing things up a little to be in cooperation with social distancing regulations.

  • Teachers will most likely wear masks all day, but definitely at drop-off and pick-up.
  • Drop-off and pick-up will be via parking lot to limit the number of people in the building.
  • Toys and surfaces will be cleaned multiple times a day.
  • Children will practice standing with their arms out to their sides to keep distance between each other.
  • Hand sanitizing stations have been installed in every classroom.

We will have spaces available in our MWT & T/Th 2s, T/Th 3s, and M-F 4’s.  (These are all morning classes.)

Upcoming Dates:

August 26 – Orientation for parents new to the preschool, 6:30pm in the Upper Hall

August 27 – Classroom open houses

September 8 – First day of school for T/Th classes

September 9 – First day of school for MWF classes
