CLOW (Children’s Liturgy of the Word)

Children's Liturgy of the Word for children ages 4-10 is celebrated at the 11:30 a.m. Mass during the school year and at 10:30 a.m. Mass during the summer. The children are dismissed before the readings with trained facilitators so they can hear the Word of God and reflect on it in a way understandable to them. They return to the assembly during the Offertory and celebrate the rest of the Mass with their families.

Children's Liturgy of the Word is not celebrated on the 4th Sunday of the month from October to April, when the Family Liturgy takes place.

COVID GUIDELINES (As of 12/01/2021)

For the safety of our parish families and volunteers, the following guidelines are currently in place:

  • Bring your child with you to Mass (be sure to remember their mask)
  • Check in with the CLOW Minister (who will be standing near the Welcome Desk)
  • Sign a one-time Covid waiver and the weekly sign-in sheet verifying that your child is free from symptoms, exposure or required quarantine
  • Your child will be given a nametag verifying they are checked in and eligible to participate in CLOW
  • After the opening prayer, Fr. Andrew will call forward the children and they will be dismissed with their CLOW minister
  • Children will walk with their CLOW minister to the Pre-K room (formerly the nursery) in the preschool wing of the Parish Center
  • Following their reflection and discussion of the Sunday readings, children will be escorted back to Church by their CLOW minister to re-join their parents in the Church
  • CLOW generally lasts about 20 minutes. We thank you in advance for following these new procedures, and we are grateful to our CLOW ministers for serving!  To learn more about this ministry, please contact nbutowski@verizon.net.
