The Sister Parish Committee consists of individuals who have visited our Sister Parish, San Francisco de Asis, in El Salvador.  They step forward when help is needed with visitors from El Salvador foster an ongoing relationship with our 2 sister parishes:  Transfiguration Catholic Community in Baltimore City and San Francisco de Asis in El Salvador.

The weekends of October 28-29 and November 4-5, 2023, we will be collecting check/cash donations after all Masses to help the young people from our sister parish, San Francisco de Asis, continue their education.  This amazing group will make a difference in the future of El Salvador. The cost is $70 per month for a college student and $30 for a high schooler.  Donations may also be made under the Give tab on our parish website or by clicking here.  Any amount is accepted.  Gracias, gracias, gracias!

SISTER PARISH COVENANT

July 5, 2004

We, the parishioners of St. Andrew By the Bay, San Francisco de Asis, and the Transfiguration Catholic Community yearn to share the witness of our faith.  We believe that this mutual sharing will bring an increased fervor that will enable each of us to continue to grow in faith, hope, and love, and to become Christ for one another.

We believe that our religious communities are linked because of our Christian faith.  Therefore, we envision a relationship that reflects the fullness and dignity of Christian life – in terms of the spiritual, liturgical, moral, social, cultural, political, and economic dimensions of life.

We yearn to share the blessings and gifts bestowed upon our parish by our heavenly Father, and to extend these blessings and gifts beyond our parish boundaries.

We stand in solidarity with one another and share in the responsibilities of this relationship for prayer, decision-making, and communications.

We pray that the Holy Spirit will guide us along this journey so that it may always be a source of enrichment to our parishes and ultimately gives greater glory to our heavenly Father through His son, Jesus Christ.
