Dial 211
For a Mental Health or Substance Misuse Crisis
Anyone experiencing a possible problem or concerned about someone else should DIAL 211 to connect to the Anne Arundel County Crisis Warmline.
The Warmline is available 24 hours/day to guide you to an appropriate resource, no matter how critical or minor the problem might be.
Crisis Response System (CRS)
When calling the Warmline, you can specifically request the Crisis Response System (CRS), which is one excellent resource that offers comprehensive services, including:
- safe and compassionate emergency response to individuals in distress from mental health and substance misuse disorders
- follow-up services to help facilitate longer term success and recovery
One of the primary goals of CRS is to minimize the need for hospital emergency department visits and/or incarceration, opting for more cost-effective specialized treatment and aftercare services to those suffering from behavioral and mental health issues. We thank Director Jen Corbin and our county police department's Crisis Intervention Team leader, Lt Steven Thomas, for their very interesting and valuable presentation here last month.
